Q4 2020 Brazil Android App Insights: Top 5 Navigation & Maps Performances

As the world navigated through the end of 2020, Sensor Tower provides insights into the performance of the top Navigation and Maps applications on the Android platform in Brazil during the fourth quarter. Here's a snapshot of how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at nearly 208K in the week of December 21st and weekly active users reaching over 2.5M at the beginning of October. The trend for Waze showed an increase in both downloads and active users as the quarter progressed.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation, developed by AppStar Studios, saw revenues peaking at around $217 in the week of November 30th. Downloads hit a high of over 61K at the start of the quarter but dipped to around 17K in early November before rebounding to over 51K in the week of December 21st. Weekly active users also saw a decline in early November but recovered to over 107K by the third week of December.

Google Earth downloads were consistent, with a slight peak of over 36K in the first week of December, while active users reached their highest at over 235K in the week of November 23rd. The application's usage showed a resilient pattern with active users remaining above 200K throughout the quarter.

Navigation for Google Maps Go, also by Google LLC, experienced downloads in the range of 10K to 13K for most of the quarter, with weekly active users peaking at nearly 30K in the first week of October. The trend for this app showed a slight decline in both downloads and active users towards the end of the period.

Lastly, Google Maps Go saw downloads ranging from 6K to nearly 15K, with the highest downloads in the first week of October. Weekly active users remained steady, hovering around 120K throughout the quarter.
